Today was an exhausting day. I am ridiculously happy to be sitting in my bed right now. Too much driving and socializing for anti-social me. Though it was great to see people, next weekend I am just going to be a hermit and stay in. Anyways, the weather today was gorgeous. Sunny and 63 degrees. We had a birthday party to go to (for a two year old). They live in the city so we took the scenic route and stopped off in a little coastal town where we snapped some pictures of the ocean, watched a few old men crab fishing, and then headed up to the city, where we were 30 minutes late to the party. We only stayed about an hour, all of which I felt awkward because I knew two of the 30 people there, and there were little children running everywhere. We then met up with one of my oldest friends who is in town from Boston. I have known him….I think almost 15 years now. At age 25 it is impressive to have had a friend for that long. We went to elementary, junior high, high school, and college together, as well as dated at one point for 3 years. We still remained the best of friends through all of that. Because he lives in Boston and I live here we haven’t seen in about 3 years, but he was in town for a conference for his graduate school program, so we grabbed some Italian food for dinner. Introduced him and Alex and they got along swimmingly. Talked about Vespas and motorcycles. Yup, it was riveting conversation for me. But it was tons of fun and great to see him.
“Navy Blue Elephants”

Yes, I really am that pale. After I go to Hawaii, I promise I will have a bit of color. Also, taking pictures when the sun is directly overhead is not optimal.

How cute is that dress? I was looking at a similar one on Modcloth that I’m dying for , but no! Solidarity. We will be strong and not send, so I’ll just drool over yours!

I love this dress. The giant pockets are my favorite. I could literally fit my head into one if I wanted. And yes, we will be strong. We will not give into our buying urges!

What a great dress and necklace, but I love the shoes most of all. So red, so shiny, so adorable!! It looks perfect with your skin, which is very aristocratic and in another time would have been described as ‘like milk and moonshine’ or other romantic things. hey, don’t that rock? ;o)
Kate
Thank you so much for your kind comment! The red shoes really are quiet awesome, and were such a steal since they are normally $90. And the best part is, they are super comfortable. And yes, my skin is totally the color of milk…but I embrace it, and I would rather be pale than over-tanned and wrinkly.

I just love every last thing about this look – the bag, the shoes, the dress, the necklace. This is a GREAT outfit! Digging the navy + red + cognac. You’re making me wish I had my navy dress out to pair with my new red wedges!
Kate
Awww thank you! Navy is one of my absolutely favorite colors, and with red, I am absolutely adoring it even more.
