There are so many blogs that I love and want to feature here, and I am discovering new ones every day. At this rate I am going to have a blog to feature every Friday day for the rest of my life (or at least the next year). This week’s selection was a tough one, but I decided upon one of my all time favorite blogs, and one of the sweetest, kindest and most adorable bloggers out there.
Little Chief Honeybee
If you have not yet had the pleasure of reading Kaelah’s blog, Little Chief Honeybee, or chatting with her on Twitter, then you are missing out. As I said, Kaelah is one of the absolutely sweetest, kindest, intelligent, talented, and hardworking young ladies that I know. Oh, and lets not forget, she is freaking adorable as can be. When she tarted her blog over two years ago it was a way for her to keep touch with her family and friends while she was lucky enough to receive an internship in NYC. Over time it has grown to something far more and includes a little bit of everything, including personal style and outfits, her everyday life, pictures of her two adorable pups and awesome fiance, her business ventures, her ever changing hair color (hint, unless you see her sporting natural looking reddish-brown hair, they are all wigs, and look fantastic) and so much more. When you visit Kaelah’s blog you are getting a peek inside her life, and getting to know someone truly worth knowing.
Some of my favorite posts include a birthday wish to her adorable puppy Pipkin (seriously the cutest French Bulldog you will ever see), some tips on how to make all your images the same size in a post (it looks so much better, trust me), how she battles blogger block (we have all been there), a great guide on tattoo etiquette and how not to be a total ass, her 23 things to do before turning 24 (which inspired me to make a 30 before 30 list), and absolutely incredible post about the power of being a girl. And those are just from the last three to four months. She has over two years of archives, so there is a ton of fantastic posts to keep you occupied for quite some time!
In addition to being a fantastic blogger, Kaelah is also incredibly crafty and talented. She has a fantastic Etsy shop, called hive & honey filled with gorgeous hair accessories. I have two of her flower fascinators (which you may have seen here on the blog) and I absolutely adore them. She recently added some adorable felt bows, and a little birdie (possibly named Kaelah) told me that she will be adding some fabric bows to the shop soon! I definitely planning on snatching up a couple.
In regards to fashion and personal style Kaelah and her blog have been a huge inspiration to me. Before I found her blog I only owned two dresses, and they were both only appropriate for formal outings. After seeing how ridiculously adorable and gorgeous dresses can look, I decided to venture out and start adding them to my clothing collection. Now I can’t stop. In fact I think I may have gotten to the point where I prefer dresses and skirts over jeans. And I never thought that would happen! Some of my favorite of her outfits include (pictures are from her blog and were taken by her lovely fiance, Mike):
Ok, by now I am sure you are sick of hearing me ramble on about her, so why don’t you go check her blog and Etsy out, and say hello to her on Twitter. She really is as sweet as a Georgia peach (and Georgia happens to be the name of her other pup, also adorable).

When I thought about this week’s Featured Blog I knew that I wanted to choose one that has had a direct impact on my life in a positive way. With this in mind Already Pretty was an obvious choice!
Friday’s Featured Blog: Already Pretty
I discovered Sal’s fantastic blog shortly after I began blogging, and not a moment too soon. Â I had been feeling quite bad about my body for some time and my self esteem was at an all time low. Â Most days getting out of bed was extremely difficult, let alone getting dressed and putting a smile on my face. Â And then I found Sal. Â Immediately I was sucked into her fantastic writing and excellent advice on fashion, style and most importantly, body image. Â She seems to truly understand the struggle that so many women go through, and through her incredible and thoughtful writing I was able to eventually find peace with myself. Â It was through her that I started to learn to love who I am, imperfections and all. Â Sal and her blog are truly one of a kind. Â Each of her posts are well written, thought out, and informative. Â Â The best part is that she pulls many of her topics and posts from reader’s questions. Â Chances are, if you send a question into Sal, you will get a post. Â Some of my recent favorites include:
How to Dress Comfortably - Sal, like me, dresses for comfort, and in this fantastic post she gives tips on how you can do the same, and still look stylish and put together.
The Treat Yourself Mentality – Sometimes it is good to treat yourself to a little something, but it is important to make sure you aren’t causing more harm (for example, financially) than good.
How to Shop For Shoes – Like many of us Sal is a huge fan of shoes, and through her many years of shoe shopping, she has learned a few tricks that she shares with her readers.
How Much Should You Invest In Your Wardrobe? – It is a question we all have, and a good one. Â Most statistics recommend 3% to 10% of your monthly budget. Â What do you think?
Fears of Androgyny - The androgynous look tends to be very popular right now, and Sal takes a look at her fears of it, and how she used to use it to hide herself.
In addition to her daily thought provoking articles, Sal also posts daily outfits.  These outfits are elegant, simple, colorful and feminine.  I am constantly looking to her and her blog for personal style inspiration.  Prior to reading her blog I own two dresses. But with her blog (as well as others), I have learned that the silhouettes that dresses and skirts create are perfect for my body, and now my closet is filled with them.
If you haven’t already clicked off this page to go lose yourself in her blog, do so right this instant. Â You can also find her on Twitter, so be sure to say hello!

Moving forward “Weekly Blog Love” is going to take a different direction. I will still include interesting links and blog posts I find in my Weekly Rundown (posted on Sundays) but from now on, every Friday will have a “Featured Blog”. I was actually inspired by Rachel Phipps and Daisy Butter who both have a “Blog of the Week” featured on their sidebars. In addition to my weekly choice being featured on the sidebar, there will also be a full post detailing a little more about the blog! The blogs that I choose will be ones that I have found inspiring, interesting, and/or enjoyable. They will be blogs that I love and want to share with as many people as possible. Some you may have heard of, while others may be more unknown, but be sure to check them out, because each one is amazing. If you would like to see your blog featured here, or find a blog you think I should check out, email me at kate(at)kateolmstead(dot)com.
Friday’s Featured Blog: Dress With Courage
I feel that it is only fitting that the first featured blog is that created by Elissa. Dress With Courage is one of the very first blogs that I discovered when I first started blogging. I was immediately hooked to her incredible ability to write, her unwavering sense of style and her ability to thrift some of the most incredible vintage clothes (particularly anything with sequins). As I got to know her even more I learned that she is also incredibly strong, talented, determined, and one of the most kind people out there. I feel incredibly lucky, and dare I say blessed, to count her as one of my friends.
Her blog is one part incredibly well written and thoughtful posts about important and difficult issues, one part incredible style, and one part amazing vintage and thrifting tips. She takes the style and fashion blog to an entirely new level and really gets you thinking. Some of my favorite posts include:
Thrifting 101 Series – This series, which is now up to 23 parts, is one of the most incredible resources for anyone who thrifts, beginners to advanced. Everything from how to determine quality, to identifying the era in which a piece of vintage clothing is from, to how to clean your thrifted pieces. I have learned so much due to this series and now loving thrifting more than ever.
Winner Takes All: Women & Competition – This post takes a look how women have this innate need to compete with each other, and how this can be destructive. She writes “Don’t judge. Don’t compare. Don’t belittle people’s lives or feelings. When someone acts ugly out of jealousy, it really hurts. It damages relationships, lives, and spirit. And you know that beauty everyone has? When jealousy comes out, the beauty goes away.“
Confessions of a Control Freak – As a life long control freak (sometimes bordering on OCD) I could really relate to this post. In the post Elissa explores the relationship between the need for control and the need for perfectionism, and whether or not they are related.
Tattoos: Fashion Statement or Sexual Device – As a person who has three tattoos this is another post that I could relate to. In this particular post Elissa discusses the idea that tattoos are methods in which to attract potential mates, or symbols of hyper-sexuality. A fascinating read.
In additional to her thought-provoking editorial content she also has some absolutely fantastic outfits (may of them with thrifted or vintage pieces). A few favorites are:
If you have not yet checked her blog out, please get over there right now! I promise that you won’t regret it! And tell her I say hello! You can also find her on Twitter!
