Being sick has also meant I haven’t had the energy to do anything worthwhile or snap any pictures, so my apologies for the lack of snapshots in this week’s Weekly Rundown. Instead you get a little written update! I am finally getting over the illness that I have had for the last week and a half, thank goodness. I only missed two and a half days of work this week, and felt like I was going to die, but it’s all good. Although, I do feel quite bad for passing it onto Alex. Poor guy is not too happy right now. When I wasn’t at work trying to get at least a little work done, I was curled up in bed with Alex watching lots of CSI (he was home sick Thursday and Friday). Thanks to being sick and having no energy to do anything but watch television, we are already half way through season two. At the rate we are going we are going to blow through the six seasons we own.
After wondering where spring and summer were hiding with chilly temperatures the past few months, the weather has finally started to turn nice. The temperature has actually gotten into the 70s and even the 80s in the past few days! We may get a summer yet. Though I must admit, if it stayed 73 the entire summer, I wouln’t mind. The weekend was a bit of a bummer since Alex is quite unwell (I can at least function somewhat). Though the weather was absolutely gorgeous we spent most of the weekend indoors, in bed. I did manage to make it out yesterday for some dental work (two fillings, more to come). And today we made it out long enough to grab a late lunch and some necessities at Walmart and the Vitamin Shoppe (lots of vitamins and supplements to help get healthier). Now we are back in bed getting ready to watch the premiere of a new alien show on TNT (I am only watching it because it has Noah Wyle in it). Not the ideal weekend, but at least we were together!
I have started reading more and more nail blogs and have found myself becoming more interested in becoming better at painting my own. While my nail-polish collection is quite small (I only have ten or so different colors), I am definitely keeping my eyes open for interesting colors and polishes, all while trying to improve my ability to paint my own (I am decent at painting my left hand, my right hand, not so much). Yesterday I painted them a nice sparkly purple that my blogger penpal Belle sent me! While they aren’t perfectly painted, I quite like how they came out (I am terrible around the cuticles)!
Next week I only have three days of work as my company is going to Tahoe for a few days on Thursday! The company is paying for a good portion of the trip (hotel and a couple meals), and though drinking and gambling aren’t really my thing, it should be pretty fun. I will probably spend most of the time by the pool relaxing and catching up on reading (both books and blogs). Well, I think I have rambled enough, and our show is nearly on! So, without further ado (even though it was a slow week here on the blog)…

This week’s Weekly Rundown is going to be just a bit different this time around. No grainy Android pictures this time around. You see, today is a special day. Today the person who keeps me sane, and happy, and healthy, is celebrating his birthday. I am very thankful that he was born this day some years ago. He puts a smile on my face, makes me laugh with his terrible puns, and cheers me up when I am down. He makes me happier than I could ever express. Without him, I would be a very sad panda. So Happy Birthday Alex. I love you.
We celebrated his birthday by lunch with some friends/family at his favorite restaurant (Texas Roadhouse), then we went and saw a movie (X-Men: First Class), and then we spent the evening relaxing, watching Finding Nemo, and grilling some burgers. Now we are about to curl up in bed and watch some CSI (we now have seasons one through six on DVD) and cuddle. I couldn’t think of a better way to spend the day. Thank you for everything that you have done for me in the last 18+ months Alex, and thank you for everything you will do for me in the years to come. I couldn’t ask for a better partner.
And now for things a little less sappy…

Though it was a shorter week, thanks to a holiday on Monday, it felt like it was never going to end. Work was extremely busy and stressful, so that kept me quite busy during the days. Nights were reserved for blogging, and then an early bed. I have been so exhausted that I have been tucked in and sleeping by 10:30 every night. Additionally this week I found out that my brother has decided to move back East with my Mom. While I know this is the best thing for him (he has a much better chance of finding a job there), I have to admit that I am going to miss him a great deal. It was nice having a bit of family around. Unfortunately, after he moves, I will no longer have any immediate family in the area. They will all be at least 3,000 miles away (Vermont and North Carolina). I am quite sad about this, and still haven’t fully wrapped my head around it. He lives at the end of the month (June 28th), so I still have a bit of time left with him and I am going to do everything I can to make the best of that. Anyways! Enough of the sappy sad stuff. I am trying something new with the pictures this week (thanks to some awesome image overlays from Pugly Pixel). Let me know what you think!

Not much planned for the weekend, but I do plan to spend most of it relaxing. I need to catch up on some sleep and find a way to de-stress. We might go see X Men: First Class with my brother, and I think on Sunday Alex wanted to go to a local car show, so I will likely join him on that. Perhaps there will be some blogging this weekend, as well as finishing my book? Tonight, however, it’s all about eating delicious pizza, and watching Blue Valentine (look for my review on Monday). I love lazy Friday nights.
Do you have any fun plans for the weekend?
